Why Green November

With the motto "green is the new black", NIKIN strengthens a more sustainable consumer awareness and thus inspires other companies and hopefully you too.

How we donate

During Green November, NIKIN collects money for forest protection projects. Traditionally, NIKIN donates one franc or euro per order during November.

Who takes part

We get other like-minded companies on board. They also donate individual amounts to forest protection projects in the name of Green November.

And this is how it works

As a sustainable fashion label, NIKIN is committed to greater consumer awareness. As the initiator of "Green November", we want to inspire other companies and the community to consume more sustainably. Companies from Switzerland, but also from other countries, can join Green November and collect money for forest protection projects together with us instead of offering discounts. Green November is an extension of Green Friday, which we have been celebrating for several years instead of Black Friday.

But how exactly does it work?

Every company that takes part donates a portion of its turnover during Green November (01.11 -31.11) to selected local projects. NIKIN itself, for example, donates one franc or euro per order during Green November. The various partners donate either fixed amounts or also per product or order.

Would you like to take part as a company?

We are delighted! You can contact us at any time and we will get back to you as soon as possible. It's also best to let us know whether you would like to donate a fixed amount, an amount per order or a contribution of a different size for Green November.

What can I do as an individual?

Make companies and your fellow human beings aware of Green November! Find out from your favorite labels whether and why they are offering discounts. Communicate that sustainability is important to you and, if necessary, forgo a purchase or two if you are affected by the discounts. Values and Production method are not completely convinced.

The Green November 2021 projects

Which forest conservation projects are we supporting together during "Green November 2021"? The donations will be collected in Germany and Switzerland and will flow into local projects that are committed to forest protection and reforestation. Here, too, forests are increasingly threatened by bark beetles and natural disasters. All donations from Switzerland go to Bergwaldprojekt, while the money from Germany goes to TreePlantingProjects

The Mountain Forest Project is a non-profit foundation based in Trin in the canton of Graubünden. Since 1987, the Mountain Forest Project has been committed to the preservation, maintenance and protection of forests and cultural landscapes in mountain regions. Every year, around 2,500 volunteers work at over 40 locations in Switzerland, making an important contribution to preserving the diverse protective effects of the mountain forest.

The TreePlantingProjects agency from Germany consists of a 15-strong team and a volunteer community. Thanks to donations, they lease forests on private property for 7 years and establish a climate-resistant mixed forest. There are currently 75 projects underway, the majority of which are in Bavaria.

Get to know the NIKIN manufacturers in Portugal

NIKIN visited all producers in Portugal. Spread over five days, we visited all our producers in person, made personal contacts and ensured that our standards were being met. We take a look behind the scenes in the blog so that you can get an impression too.

NIKIN Clean Up Day: the community collected 158kg of rubbish!

In the Swiss cities of Basel, Bern, Lenzburg and Zurich, NIKIN and the community collected and disposed of 158 kilograms of waste last Saturday. The campaign took place as part of the global Clean Up Day. We are now planting a tree for every kilogram collected. You can find out why there will be 218 trees and not "just" 158 in the blog.

Fast vs. slow fashion: where does NIKIN stand?

Customers sometimes ask us whether we are a fast fashion or slow fashion brand. In fact, we deal with this question in many areas. A look behind the scenes of a growing company in the field of fashion and sustainability.
