NIKIN AG is a sustainable Swiss clothing brand based in Aarau. Founded in October 2016 by childhood friends Nicholas Hänny and Robin Gnehm, the brand offers durable and timeless products made from sustainable materials, manufactured almost exclusively in Europe, and plants a tree for every item sold. To date, NIKIN has planted over 2.6 million trees worldwide in partnership with One Tree Planted.
The two founders started with 5,000 Swiss francs in seed capital. Since its highly successful crowdfunding campaign in December 2022, which raised 5 million Swiss francs in just three weeks, NIKIN now has around 4,000 co-owners.
About 35 people work at NIKIN and are pursuing the vision of building a community that plants trees and protects nature.

Spatz × NIKIN: Two Swiss Brands Launch Joint Collection
Many Swiss people grew up camping. It is precisely these memories that inspired the collaboration between the iconic tent brand Spatz and the sustainable fashion label NIKIN. The joint collection brings the camping vibe into everyday life. Original Spatz tent fabric is repurposed and transformed into products such as T-shirts, caps, bags, and a poncho that can be converted into a one-person tent. Production takes place in Europe, with a focus on durable materials and functional design.

With a new longsleeve T-shirt made entirely from recycled cotton, NIKIN is setting a strong example for the future of fashion. The new TreeShirt Mono Longsleeve was developed in collaboration with the Swiss company Säntis Textiles and shows how the circular economy can be implemented in a very concrete way.

Nikin TreeHouse: Switzerland's largest tree house is now open!
On March 1, over 800 visitors celebrated the opening of the Nikin TreeHouse. More than just a store, it combines sustainable fashion, offices and events. Highlight: a ten-meter-long storm tree runs through all floors. Natural materials, a swing with a view of the old town and a café round off the experience.

A sweater made from old jeans
The Texcircle project at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts aims to close the textile loop. Now the sustainable clothing label Nikin is launching a product as part of this - a sweater made from recycled jeans. "We are incredibly proud to be part of Texcircle and to be able to produce such an innovative product!" says Robin Gnehm, co-founder and CPO of the sustainable company Nikin.
