Where does my TreeShirt? A legitimate question - and quite honestly: the answer "from Portugal" is not enough for us. We want more. More transparency, more insight and more trust. That's why we're giving you a real look behind the scenes and taking the next step towards transparency: with our new partner platform retraced you can now see exactly where the fabrics for your clothes come from, who has processed them and what stages they have gone through - from raw materials to production and packaging.
Why transparency is so important in fashion
Where and how are clothes actually made? What materials are used and what routes do they take before they end up in our closets? Questions like these are often difficult to answer. After all, you can usually only see the finished product, not how it got there. But we think so: This is where real sustainability comes in. When what is otherwise hidden becomes visible, responsibility becomes tangible and nothing is lost.Nothing can be glossed over or hidden. This automatically makes transparency the key to honest, sustainable decisions. For us at NIKIN, it is therefore not a bonus, but a must. We want to know, and above all show, where our products come from, how they are made and who works on them.

Why we work with retraced - and who is behind it
Real transparency requires data and modern technologies. With retraced we have found exactly that. The start-up from Düsseldorf has developed a platform that maps every stage of a product digitally, securely and traceably. The data is stored, checked and verified decentrally in a blockchain. This allows us to disclose our entire supply chain - and show you what would otherwise often remain hidden.
How exactly does it work?
- Our production partners record their sustainability and production data directly at retraced.
- The information is checked and verified by the platform - for maximum reliability.aptitude.
- Each NIKIN garment is provided with a QR code that links the collected data.
- You scan the code with your smartphone and find out all about the origin, processing and standards.
retraced also supplements this information with images, videos and stories that make the people and places behind the product visible. In this way, we create more clarity, more trust - and above all more responsibility.

What does this mean for the future?
Our collaboration with retraced is an important component of our sustainable approach. We want to map our supply chains even more seamlessly, be even more transparent about our responsibility - and help you to make conscious purchasing decisions. Not all NIKIN products are yet linked to retraced, but in the future all our garments will be provided with a QR code so that every product is transparent and traceable - regardless of whether you buy your new NIKIN product in the TreeHouse or online from us.
You can easily check for yourself which products are already fully traceable: In our online store, you will find the "See transparency report" button under the product description. One click - and you can see in detail where, how and by whom your garment was made.
