In line with Erich Kästner's quote "Man shall learn, only the oxen shall swot", we take a look back to see what NIKIN has learned this year. Spoiler alert: it's all about dogs, hybrid working models and spring cleaning in the fall.
Seeing the good in the negative is an art and some of us were forced to practise it in 2021. Thank you Corona. NIKIN was also allowed to outgrow itself. Especially when it comes to flexibility. And so we are now digital nomads, even if only between the home office and the NIKIN office. What we have learned is that we value our team immensely and enjoy seeing each other. Well, if that's not a nice conclusion.
Can you get too many prizes?
A stupid question, of course, but Patrick, Head of Social Media, said this year: "If more comes in, we'll have output overkill." Of course, this is grumbling on a high level, after all, there are nice honors like Forbes 30 under 30 or the PETA Germany Award. Nevertheless, we have resolved to create a little more empty space next year. But not when it comes to advertising. Sorry. We'll still be popping up on your screen all the time.
House-trained with a delay
Something else that many at NIKIN are really enjoying at the moment (albeit with a mask) is the freshly tidied office in Lenzburg. It had looked a bit chaotic since spring. We had just moved house when the coronavirus came and sent us back to our home office. So the spring clean turned into a fall clean. Now everything is nicely organized and workstations can be booked. The learning effect has not yet been fully achieved, as some people are still struggling with the booking app (you could also say they are ignoring it) and coffee cups have already been found in special places. But that will come! PS: (house-trained) dogs can now also come to the office, which is great, isn't it?
Nobody: ..., NIKIN: Let's do everything in 2021
We always knew it, but 2021 was proof that we are hard-working TreeBees. Because in 2021 there was a website relaunch, the first Green November, Andri Ragettli as NIKIN Ambassador, physical TreePlantingDays, online TreePlantingDays, Christmas markets, 50,000 followers on TikTok, 120,000 on Instagram, what felt like 44 new employees, 1.5 million trees planted, factory visits and, also very important for the team, a new coffee machine (#thiswins). The learning here is not that some things are too much, but that we like to do a lot and it usually works. @Nike we can also #justdoit.
