Crowd Design 2021: New this year with two categories
In 2020, we launched the Crowd Design competition, in which the community had the chance to actively help shape NIKIN with a design of their own creation. The most popular design was then selected by a community vote and ultimately immortalized on thousands of NIKIN shirts. Last time, Dominique came out on top with her design "TreeCompass". In order to give our youngest members of the community a chance to have their own TreeShirt this time, we have introduced a kids' category in addition to the adult category. And so this year we were once again able to accept numerous designs from young to old. In the end, the two designs chosen by the community as their favorites prevailed. Find out more about the winners and their stories behind the design in the video.
"wild & free" by Anne-Laure
With competition from 170 other design entries, Anne-Laure from Broc, in the canton of Fribourg, came out on top in the end with her design "wild & free". The 28-year-old came across the crowd design competition by chance. But she quickly realized that she wanted to take part. She felt that the tree was the most important element, but she found the inspiration for the whole design in the fascinating mountain world that surrounds her region. Anne-Laure therefore tried out the design with various mountains until she decided on the Moléson - a mountain peak in the south of the canton of Fribourg.
"TreeRex" from Dario
The first winner in the new Kids category was 8-year-old Dario. With his creative design "TreeRex", he won the hearts of the community and was ultimately chosen as the winner. His design consists of a dinosaur, a T-Rex to be precise. However, as the version of his dinosaur eats plants rather than meat, Dario opted for the creative name "TreeRex". Congratulations to the first Kids Crowd Design winner.
