Discover our Natural Dye Collection

Sustainability is very versatile, for our Natural Dye Collection we tried something you've definitely never seen before. The TreeShirts and TreeShopper of this limited Capsule Collection are dyed in an all-natural way, using food waste from Portuguese coffee, olive and onion production. This Collection shows that nature itself provides a wide range of beautiful colors and that food waste can be creatively reused. The natural colors are dissolved in an environmentally friendly and chemical-free process from the ground coffee beans, pressed olives or the detached onion skins and transferred to our products. Of course, only the colors are passed on, but not the smells.

This is how our products are dyed naturally

  • The natural colors are obtained from organic waste from Portuguese coffee, olive and onion production, which is collected instead of simply disposed of.
  • The quality of the collected food scraps is checked and unusable waste is sorted out.
  • In an environmentally friendly technical process, the color pigments are dissolved from the pulp and used for the natural dyeing of textiles, leaving only an organic and compostable residue.
  • For the natural dyeing by our partner, Minority Denim, no chemicals are used at all.
  • The water used for the dyeing process can be reused to irrigate the fields without treatment (purification). This is in contrast to conventional dyeing methods, where the water has to be treated afterwards. The excess organic waste is compostable.
  • The organic waste and water from the dyeing process flow back into nature and the circle is closed.

WASH CARE INSTRUCTIONS

The products of the Natural Dye Collection are dyed with colors made from natural raw materials, but to maximize their life and your enjoyment of them, you should take into account some care instructions:

  • The products are dyed with much love and care in an artisanal process, yet minor irregularities can occur in the coloring, but they are hardly noticeable. But hey, in nature, too, not everything is always perfect and besides, your shirt becomes so unique.
  • In any case, you should wash the TreeShirt Natural Dye at least once before wearing it for the first time, preferably separately and only with hand wash at a maximum of 30°C.
  • Repeated washing can cause the colors to fade slightly - but you can reduce this with a pH-neutral liquid detergent (often the packaging is labeled "fine" or "sensitive"), and you should also not tumble dry the TreeShirt or let it dry in direct sunlight.

Hand wash 30°C,
wash separately
